Fingerprinting Of Visa Applicants
Islamabad - December 12, 2003: The U.S. Government has announced that effective Monday, December 15, 2003, visa applicants will be fingerprinted at the U.S. Embassy in Islamabad. This is a new procedure, instituted in accordance with U.S. law, which mandates that biometric identifiers be collected from all visa applicants by October 26, 2004. This is a world-wide program, already instituted in many countries, such as Mexico, Belgium, Canada and Germany.
All visa applicants must be fingerprinted, with the exception of children under the age of 14 and adults over the age of 79.

Reminder To All Nationals Of Visa Waiver Program Countries
Visa Waiver Program (VWP) country passports issued after October 26, 2004, and which are not biometrically enabled will not be valid for travel to the United States without a visa. Nationals of the 27 VWP countries who possess passports issued on or before October 25, 2004, may continue to travel to the United States without obtaining a visa, provided that the passport is machine-readable. Nationals of VWP countries may travel to the United States for up to 90 days to conduct business or tourism without a visa.

How To Apply In Pakistan
In order to apply for a nonimmigrant visa, all applicants must complete the nonimmigrant visa application form, pay the application fee, and appear in person for interview. All applications for nonimmigrant visas must be submitted through American Express Bank Ltd Travel Related Services offices, a participating branch of American Express in Pakistan (see a list of all the offices).
