List of Current Fees for Nepal Citizens
The $100 fee paid by all applicants for nonimmigrant visas is an application fee only. Some types of visas have additional fees that are collected only if a visa is issued.
Issuance fees are payable in cash only. Both U.S. dollars and Nepali rupees are accepted. Exact change will speed the processing of your receipt.
Applying for a Passport
All passport applications filed at the Embassy are now sent to a central processing center in the United States. Americans overseas are issued the same photo-digitized passports as applicants in the U.S., instead of a locally produced, less-secure version. Passport processing takes approximately two weeks; applicants may retain their current passports while awaiting the replacement. Limited validity passports may be issued locally in emergency circumstances, but must be replaced as soon as possible by a photo-digitized passport.
