General Information
For the most up-to-date information on visa policy, please visit one of the following websites: www.unitedstatesvisas.gov and www.travel.state.gov.

A valid visa is necessary for most aliens who wish to apply for entry into the United States. Under U.S. law, all aliens seeking admission are presumed to be intending immigrants, and need to establish to the satisfaction of the consular and immigration officials that they are entitled to receive a visa in one of the non-immigrant visa categories.

How to Apply
The American Embassy in Windhoek Namibia issues all categories of U.S. non-immigrant visas to foreign nationals who wish to travel to the United States for business, pleasure, studies, and certain categories of temporary employment. Immigrant visas for Namibian citizens are processed by the U.S. Consulate General in Johannesburg, South Africa.

PASSPORT SERVICES
The US Embassy in Windhoek issues passports to American citizens applying for the first time, renewing an expired/expiring passport, or applying for a replacement for a lost or stolen passport. Passport applications are normally processed in ten working days. In cases of genuine emergency, however, a passport can often be issued on the same day the application is approved. The US Embassy also can supply additional passport visa pages at no cost.

Application Fees
There is a non-refundable application fee of US$100.00 or the Namibian dollar equivalent payable, in cash only, upon submission of your visa application. If you are not a Namibian citizen, there may be a further fee charged for issuance of your visa. If there is an issuance fee it is approximately the same as that which is charged by your government to a United States citizen for a similar type visa.
