If you want to travel to the U.S., you most likely will need a visa (click on the Visa Waiver program link for a list of exceptions). Click on the following links, which provide additional information as to the requirements and documentation you will need to apply for a U.S. visa:
Non-Immigrant Visa – For short visits and travel to or transit through the U.S., as well as for prospective students who will study at a U.S. institution.

Type of Visa -

Student Visas
Congratulations! You’ve been accepted to attend school in the U.S., and whether you will pursue an undergraduate degree, graduate studies or you are going to a public or private high school, you should feel very proud of this accomplishment.

Non-Immigrant Visa – For short visits and travel to or transit through the U.S., as well as for prospective students who will study at a U.S. institution.

Immigrant Visa – For those planning to immigrate and live permanently in the U.S.

As of October 26, 2004, if a visa waiver traveler does not have a machine-readable passport (MRP), he/she cannot travel on the Visa Waiver Program and would be required to present a U.S. visa at the port of entry to enter the U.S. The Department of Homeland Security’s, Customs and Border Protection began full enforcement of this policy on June 26, 2005. To read more, see the DHS Press Release.
