Visa Details
Type of Visa -
Immigrant Visas
To qualify for an immigrant visa as an immediate relative
of an American Citizen, the applicant must be the beneficiary of
I-130 Petition for an Immediate Relative. The American Embassy in
Kyiv will accept I-130 petitions filed on behalf of spouses, unmarried
children under 21 and parents of American Citizens. Legal Permanent
Residents can only file for their relatives with the USCIS in the
United States.
NONIMMIGRANT VISA
The non-immigrant visa interview will be scheduled for the first
available date or for any other available date the applicant requests
that is available. Applicants may expect to be notified of their
interview date and time within two business days. Due to the limited
number of interview appointments available on any given day, the
Consular Section may not be able to honor a specific request, particularly
during peak seasons. In such cases, the Consular Section will contact
the applicant by e-mail to determine another date that meets the
needs of the applicant.
Document Required -
It is preferable to request a visa appointment seven weeks
in advance to ensure that the desired date of application can be
given. We advise that each applicant request an appointment as soon
as they know they will be traveling to the U.S. No documents are
necessary to schedule an appointment. Applicants that wait until
they have received an invitation to request an appointment normally
find that their requests cannot be accommodated because their desired
date of application has been fully scheduled.
Fee -
The U.S. government invested $180,000 to renovate the U.S. consular
building, nearly doubling and improving the public space. As a result,
nonimmigrant visa cases are processed more efficiently, and immigrant
visa applicants no longer need to travel to the U.S. Embassy in
Warsaw for their visa interview. This is a great savings of time
and money for Ukrainian applicants.
Via an easy-to-use, free on-line/e-mail appointment system, Ukrainian
applicants book their own nonimmigrant visa appointments for a specified
time slot at the next available opening, or a later date of their
own choosing. The Embassy provides expedited appointments for medical
emergency cases as well as for student and business travelers who
can demonstrate a need to be in the U.S. by a certain school- or
business-related date.
