Visa Details
Tourist Cards
Issued to travellers visiting the Dominican Republic for
touristic purposes for stays of up to two weeks. Tourist Cards can
be applied for in advance at a cost of 8, or can be issued on arrival
at a cost of US$10, though this can be a lengthy process. Extensions
of up to three months are possible by visiting the Immigration Department
in Santo Domingo; failure to do so will result in a surcharge at
the airport upon departure. Nationals of the following countries
are eligible for a Tourist Card:
(a) 3. nationals of the countries mentioned in the chart above (except
nationals of Cyprus, Estonia, Japan, Latvia, Malta and Slovak Republic,
who do need a visa);

Student Visa
If you are not a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident
of Canada, you must obtain a student visa in order to study in Canada.
Persons who are going to take English or French courses lasting
a maximum of three months need to apply for a visitor visa only.
Document
Required -application form (PDF) duly completed and signed;
valid passport;
one recent passport-size photograph for each applicant;
letter from your employer;
bank references;
letter of invitation (if applicable); and
processing fees, which must be paid upon submission of your application.

Fee -
Effective December 30, 2003, the payment of Immigration processing
fees is based in US Dollars (US$).
Payment can only be made using :
1. Cashier's Cheques or Bank Draft in US Dollars payable to the
Canadian Embassy from any local commercial bank
2. Direct deposit at the bank account of the Canadian Embassy located
at the following address :
